you know, i kind of like the idea of deodands, in the sense of "hit 'em where it hurts--their wallet". admittedly i'm not in favor of the law, because of how badly it can be misused, but i can appreciate it. how many checks and balances are there for this stuff? it seems it's just part of the legal system, so there isn't any check or balance except for the appeal process. unappealing.
